Book of My Nights: Poems (American Poets Continuum, 68) - Li-Young Lee You can see the progression he was making from the very dense poetry of Rose to the more open-handed recent work. I still struggled a little with some of this, but it's all fairly good. ("Good" meaning "stunning mind-blowing", but we're on a different scale here.)

Not my favorite book of his, but there are some good ones here:

The Hammock ("a little singing between two great rests")

Words for Worry ("Orphan worry writes the note he hides / in the child's lunch bag. / It begins, Dear Firefly...")

Nativity ("each must make a safe place of his heart, / before so strange and wild a guest / as God approaches.")
