This was my first time reading Scalzi. Saw this at the library and was like OH I need to read him. I'm glad I did! This was great! Kind of a sci-fi-eco-legal thriller? The sci fi world-building was well done and you basically didn't have to even think about it, everything was seamless, nothing stuck out. The legal stuff was killer--I actually understood what people were talking about, and all the ins and outs of the court proceedings, which is rare, in my experience with legal thrillers. It's funny, and it's a tightly-wound clock of a plot.
I'm not at all familiar with the source material this is "rebooting" but it was a fun read. I kind of wish I had saved this for the summer, even. Perfect beach book. Psyched to read more of this here author.
